New Business
Board membership: Vote on ASWSU representation on board. Should we reduce ASWSU’s allocated seats from three to two, and increase newsroom seats from two to three?
At a previous meeting, ASWSU board members backed this
Measure passes, 11-3. One newsroom seat is reserved for the EIC. The other two will be filled by newsroom staff chosen by the EIC.
Arpita Sinha: Are there any plans to cover the Cougs at the Capitol event?
Response: Alison Boggs, Mikayla Finnerty and Arpita Sinha will coordinate to possibly cover the individual bills as they run through the Legislature.
Charles Ugwu: Said he was happy to be a part of the board and looks forward to working with the board and its members.

- 50 pages are completed so far and she is hoping to include more Daily Evergreen stories.

- November’s special edition hasn’t been confirmed yet.

- Given away $1,800 of ads to students through student ad fund.
- Online advertisement spots are all full for the first time ever.

- Projected yearend balance as of Sept 30 is $11,782, with $9,086 in A/R.
General Comments:
- Ben Shors said that at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, the Spokesman-Review’s editor will be on campus, and invited students to attend.
- Shors said the Evergreen has been providing a very full sports report lately, but would like more civic news, which would better serve students.
- Other board members also mentioned they’ve noticed the increase in sports coverage and decrease in news coverage.
- Editor-in-Chief Brandon Willman said they’re restoring balance by hiring six or seven new news reporters.
