Nearly all of our operations are student-run or governed by a student-led board. This gives students hands-on training in communications, media and management, and creates new generations of engaged citizens and effective leaders.
Student Media comprises four main departments: The Daily Evergreen newsroom, Chinook yearbook, Graphics, and Advertising. WSU students lead each department and hire and manage student staff from dozens of different majors.
The office is administered by the Student Media Board. Students hold 10 of the 16 voting positions on that board. A professional staff assists the students in their publications through training, advising and keeping track of the finances, but does not control content.
